Over the past few weeks numerous Android users, myself included, have been experiencing extreme sluggishness with all Microsoft apps that are protected with an App Protection Policy. Our Android devices are not "enrolled" within Intune, only Registered in Entra. All Microsoft apps are impacted, constantly receiving the "Close or wait" message on Android. In many cases this causes the rest of Android to crawl for a few minutes. No particular device or Android version seems to be the culprit, as we have a wide range of devices and OS patch levels impacted.
So far we've tried re-installing Microsoft apps (Company Portal included), purging the device from Entra, and factory resetting a few devices. The issue returns a few hours after reinstalling any Microsoft apps that use App Protection Policies.
I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing this issue with their Android devices that have App Protection Policies deployed. If so, I may open a case with Microsoft. But I'd like to have a little ammo when opening that case. I do know that many reviews for the Outlook and Teams apps in the Play Store seem to confirm there's an issue, but no acknowledgement by Microsoft.
