Support for Communications Services Email Metadata

We are exploring the idea of migration from SendGrid/Twilio to Azure Communications Services for the email and SMS needs of our application. We use email primarily for application event notifications, password reset notifications etc. One thing that would be rather important to us would be the ability to pass and log metadata such as what type of notification it was and a few data points about what application resource the notification was a part of.

Reading the documentation, I didn't see any capability for doing this. So, I wanted to ask if I missed something and if not, would there be support for this in the future.

Hello @Frank Schafer I heard back from the ACS engineering team and they confirmed metadata collection is currently not support. There are plans to support it in the future but there is no shareable ETA on when it will be available.

    Thanks,

    Grace

@Grmacjon-MSFT Thanks for the update. I am curious to understand if we can incorporate metadata using the custom headers. In that case, my question is do we get those custom headers back in the webhook payload if we set up a webhook event in azure communication services.
