Hi all, I want to know what is needed for a connection between the Netherlands and China over Azure. What I need is IPsec connection to Azure on both sides (Huawei router connected to Azure) WAN optimisation (TCP optimisation) What Azure products do I need and what will this cost for a 200Mbps connection? Does this product support TCP optimisation? I tried finding this online, but no luck, I tried calling with Microsoft support, but no luck either. Thanx in advance for all input. Kind regards, Mark

Hello @Anonymous ,

Could you please provide some more details regarding your requirement such current network architecture & setup?
When you say you need a connection between the Netherlands and China over Azure, are you referring to Azure Virtual Networks in these regions or physical locations or on-premise offices?
And when you say Huawei router connected to Azure, is this Huawei router located in an on-premise location and you would like to connect this to Azure via IPSec?

Just to inform you, IPSec connection in Azure can be established by using VPN gateways but there is a list of validated VPN devices which can be connected to Azure and Huawei is not a supported device.

I want to setup a SD-WAN between offices (combined with LAN and Wifi before smart people say I need to use Aryaka, Cato of Barracuda). All locations are in Europe, and 1 is in China. I want WAN optimisation between the HQ in the Netherlands and the China location. The Huawei routers are in the offices.

I want to connect to a virtual WAN with acceleration from the offices, over the internet with the use of IPsec.

I am able to create a manual IPsec connection from the routers on both sides. I don't need to use Azure as I don't use any services, but I know they have a global network.

I'm pretty sure Huawei has enough IPsec capabilities to connect to VPN gateways, but thak you very much for pointing this out. The Huawei routers are in the offices.

@Anonymous , if I understand correctly, you are looking for branch to branch connectivity via SD-WAN over Azure.

Cato
