Good day Jennifer,
Please note that I do not work for Microsoft, but I am an IT professional and will assist you as best as possible.
It would appear that you have a two part problem.
- You are using a version of office that is no longer in support with Microsoft.
- Your installation media isn't matching your product key and therefore not activating.
First task:
Remove any previous versions of office.
Microsoft has released a tool to do this.
Please visit the below and follow the steps to clean any old versions of office.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/uninstall-office-automatically-9ad57b43-fa12-859a-9cf0-b694637b3b05
Your next task to resolve the issue will be copying the files from your original installation disk.
You have two choices. Purchase an external DVD/CD drive (they are not expensive) Or get a friend with a computer that has a DVD drive and copy the contents of the DVD/CD to a USB drive.
Once the contents is copied , you will run the setup file on the USB drive to begin the installation.
While this work around might get office installed/activated for you, I would recommend upgrading your office package to a supported version.
Please note the following non-subscription based Office packages are in support with Microsoft, and helping out without a legacy version will always be "best endeavors"
Office 2021 for Windows – support ends 13 October 2026
Office 2019 for Windows – support ends 14 October 2025
