Azure Arc Agent Status Offline

How can I fix the issue of many of our approximately 127 computers registered to Azure Arc appearing offline? They are primarily used for ESU on Server 2012, and we have already tried stopping and restarting the Azure service, removing and re-adding them, and verifying that there are no network issues. However, about one-third of them return to offline after showing connected. Any suggestions to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Preston,

It looks like you have already tried most of the troubleshooting steps, but try the following and see if it helps:

    1. Issue a Reconnect Command: If your server was previously connected and working, use the azcmagent tool to issue a reconnect command. This is useful if the server has been turned off (for more than 45 days) and its local certificate has expired, but the machine still appears in Azure.
    2. Verify the Guest Configuration Arc Service (GCArcService) is Running: If you have a monitoring agent extension deployed, you can check the logs on the resource blade. If the agent(s) are online, the heartbeat table should display activity.
      1. ARC and the monitoring extensions also need cloud connectivity: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cloud-adoption-framework/scenarios/hybrid/arc-enabled-servers/eslz-arc-servers-connectivity

If you’ve tried all of these steps and are still experiencing issues, I recommend contacting Azure Support for further assistance.
