DNS Policy for a Stub Zone

Hi,

I have a DNS zone for xyz.local on a Windows 2022 server. I also have a zone for abc.local on another Windows 2019 server. (2 separate domains) I need to have xyz.local zone as a stub zone on Windows 2019 server but there is a catch. All A records in a stub xyz.local zone need to be doctored, meaning if the real ip for www.xyz.local is 10.1.1.50, the stub zone needs to return that IP as 10.2.3.50.

Is it possible to flip the 2nd or the 3rd octet with DNS policies that were first introduced in 2016?

Thank you!

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

This DNS Policy mentioned in the Microsoft Official Link normally is used for Load Balancing purpose instead of changing the DNS resolution result. Hence it's not recommended to configure this DNS policy for stub zone.

    Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

    Best regards,

    Jill Zhou
