Does the user really need two maiboxes?
Why not use one and send as the other email address as needed?

Hello,
we sometimes have the requirement to have sort of two mailboxes for the same user, like user@company1.com and user@company2.com. As I mentioned,it is the same user, but he/she needs to maintain two corporate identities within OUTLOOK app.
Now we can set up a second Exchange Online mailbox (eventually even shared one) and grant user@company1.com SendAs over user@company2.com, maybe also FullAccess on the second mailbox in order to have it mapped into the same Outlook app. Everything is fine so far. But the problem is that this breaks kind of if user@company2.com is hidden from CAL in order to not confuse the rest of the company employees.
From my experience, we can leave user@company2.com visible in GAL for a while, user@company1.com adds user@company2.com to his Outlook addresses cache while sending one mail FROM. But if I then hide user@company2.com, after some days user@company1.com cannot use this cached account anymore. It doesn't seem to be an issue with e.g. the Outlook mobile app (added second account as shared mailbox), but it is a problem with Outlook, though.
Any idea how we can overcome this? I read about a workaround by creating a personal contact etc... but I don't think this works, does it?
kind regards,
Dieter
