Automatically populate and carry metadata to folders in main folder

Hi!

In my Document Library I have created a folder with subfolders inside of it. When I enter data into the column next/attached to the main folder, how can the metadata that I am entering automatically carry down into the subfolders? I have followed previous steps to allow management of content types and shared column selections, however, this only shares for files and not for folders.

Thank you,

Zac

    Hi @Zachary Willard,

Thank you for posting in this community.

According to your description, I have tested it. SharePoint currently does not support automatically populating metadata of master files on subfolders. This is designed by SharePoint.

Unfortunately, you can only add metadata manually.

You can also provide feedback on this feature here. This helps the development team notice the feature and make it more likely to be implemented. Your contribution is highly appreciated.

Thank you for your kind understanding.
