Date grouping issue pivot table - Excel

Question

I am encountering difficulties adding grouping to date columns in a PivotTable within the attached Excel file. When attempting to drag any date column to the row area, the expected grouping by month, year, or quarter does not appear. Manually clicking the group option also results in an error message stating "cannot add the group selection."

Interestingly, other users on different PCs can drag date columns to the row area and Excel automatically groups them by month, year, or quarter without issue.

but mine and that user excel version everything is same .

To troubleshoot, I tried changing the format of one date column on my PC from 03/14/2012 to 3/14/12 and recreated the PivotTable. This adjustment allowed automatic grouping when dragging the column to the row area, though this solution is inconsistent.

It appears that Excel or my PC settings may be causing the problem since other users can perform the grouping without adjustments.

Sorry, we are unable to access the files stored in Google. If conditions permit, you may save your file as .xml file, then try to upload it here.

According to your description, I suggest you go to Control Panel > Clock and Region > Region > Formats, and then check the date formats.
