We are currently installing all our printers locally to the endpoint device. We would like to set up a print server to manage our 800 printers.

Issue we are running into:

Using a print server each user that logs into a devices has to search and connect to a printer on the print server

Needed resolution:

We need find a way to force printer installs from the print server to all users that login the local device

Solutions we have tried:

We can use GPO to complete this task, but that will require us to have to many OU's for every department.

We can use a logon script to connect the printer using a GPO for each device, this might create login delays and not great for the user experience

Does anyone have a best practice for this or any other solutions we can look at? We are open to using 3rd party software or any Microsoft tools

    Hello,

Consider utilizing a task scheduler. You can customize the trigger as needed. This way, you can execute your script without causing any login delays.
