URL Redirection to O364 SharePoint (company.sharepoint.com)

Question

I am trying to redirect URL abc.company.com to newly created SharePoint company.sharepoint.com.

I created CName entries both internally and externally pointing to new url on sharepoint.com.

When trying to connect I am getting SSL errors as well as "<h2> Our services aren't available right now</h2><p>We're working to restore all services as soon as possible. Please check back soon.</>

Sites works when we access directiry using company.sharepoint.com but gives above error when CNAME i.e. abc.company.com.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Hi @Mohsauga,

As per my knowledge, SharePoint site URL is in fixed format and it does not support any manual or custom redirect yet. SharePoint redirect only happens internally and automatically when site address is changed.

I recommend you give suggestion in the feedback portal and help to make improvements. Many features of current products are designed and upgraded based on customers’ feedback. With requirements like this increase, the problem may well be released in the future. I will vote for you.
