Secure App service

We have several app services and its using access restrictions which lists all the blocked public IPs. Howevever, we want an efficient way to do blocking of IPs so im thinking of Azure Firewall will do the trick? Any suggestions? Thanks!

I see Deepanshukatara-6769 has addressed your queries.

Azure Firewall can be only used provided,

You have the App Services integrated into the VNET

Enabled the vnetRouteAllEnabled site setting

And for Outbound communications only.

VNET Integration does not assist you with InBound communication, and so, you cannot use Azure Firewall to filter incoming traffic in such scenarios.

If your goal is to streamline incoming connections, you should stick to Access-Restrictions only.

Hi Peter,

Access restrictions in App Service are equivalent to a firewall allowing you to block and filter traffic. Access restrictions apply to inbound access only but if you want to control both Inbound and outbound traffic for your app services , yes then using Azure firewall here could be good option.
