Collection variable table data is not showing in Add data option

Hi ,

I am following the learning path of "Exercise - Work with external data in a canvas app" on that I created colItemsCollection from items as per the content given under the head "Moving data between collections and data sources" .

When I run the app , The data is getting stored on the collection variable as I could see the table there. But When I create a new screen and "Data Table" , I could not see the the colItemCollections data under the "Add data" option. Need to understand the reason and help to fix the issue . Thanks in advance.

Thanks a lot for your quick reply, I am really Happy with your suggestion. I have added the collection variable manually on the table item property, after which the fields are visible on the data portion but disabled, I could not configure them in the "Data Table" . Moreover, the collection variable is not showing under "Add data" option to select and add the fields.

Kindly request you to evaluate and help me to get more insight. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your patience.

Try clearing your browser history and cache, then restart the process from scratch. This can often resolve issues caused by cached data or old settings interfering with your app. Remember that collections are local to the app session, so if you make changes or restart the app, ensure that the data is reloaded correctly, especially if you're not using a persistent data source.

I have tried the suggestion points, But the problem remains same, and I could not see the collection variable data (table) as data source of my apps table or gallary. Today I was learning the relational data table Application where the similar exercise was given in which I had to create a "Products" table with the collection data, In that also I faced the same problem.

I am able to see the table data under the collection variable tab, but when I was trying to add the data source, that is not visible hence I could not complete the exercise.

With this I assume that this could be a bug or Microsoft had changed the method (I may be wrong) .

I really appreciate your speed and courtesies in replying back with possible suggestions or solution. If you could check with the community and share the feedback, that would be great. Thanks in advance.

Please refer to the steps below:

Step 1: Create the collection with a name of your choice or as specified in the module. Add a button, select its OnSelect property, and use the following code to create the collection.

Step 2: Select the data table and enter the collection name in the fx field. Then, go to the properties panel on the right side, select "Edit," and choose "Add field." Please refer to the screenshot below:

Thanks for your effort to help in this, But the problem remains same, and I could not add the data here .

Collection variable is defined on click of the button.

The record from item getting added to the collection variable and it shows in the second screen.

This variable record is not visible to add in the data table .

Note : Initially I could saw the edit option on the right side and could see the data . The moment I selected the description field , it hangs and could not add another field.

Once I change the screen, That option also not available.

Kindly evaluate and guide me. Thanks in advance.

Select the data table, then enter the collection name in the fx field as shown below. Without specifying the collection name, you won't be able to add items to the collection.

Thanks , After I assign the collection variable on the item property , the fields are visible, After selecting one field , the rest of the field are disables and could not be selected.

The bottom progress dots are running .... The same issue I faced in the begining and mentioned too.

Sorry I am troubling a lot, I am Sorry for my lack knowledge on this front. Please help

It appears that not all fields are selectable in the Data Table. Here are some steps to try:

Ensure the collItemsCollection collection is fully populated with all the necessary data fields.

Verify that the field names and data types match between your data source and the Data Table.

Try refreshing the collection or reassigning it to the Data Table.

If the issue persists, consider manually adding the fields or adjusting the data source settings.

Sorry, I tried my level best , created new app and tried with the similar execise , Result is same.

One progress I see is that the data field on the table can be added once Close and Re-open the app. (Example, Adding Description field on the data table, it goes to hang mode.)
