    Hello,

When registering a third-party antivirus solution as the official antivirus for Windows operating systems in a production environment, there are some limitations and risks associated with using periodic scanning in Microsoft Defender antivirus:

    1. Regular scanning only uses a subset of Microsoft Defender antivirus features, which means it may not be able to detect all types of malware and potentially unwanted software.
    2. Running two antivirus solutions, even if one only performs periodic scans, can sometimes lead to conflicts or performance issues. This is because both solutions may try to access the same files at the same time, causing the system to slow down or crash.

    Best regards

    Jacen
