External call through teams

Question

i want to make calls to landline and mobile numbers outside the organization through Microsoft Teams.

Currently i do not have any M365 subscriptions.

I am based in Saudi Arabia. As per my understanding , calling plan is not available in my region.

Could someone suggest with which plan i need to go , so that my requirements will be fulfilled

Did a quick check and you are correct calling plans are not available in your region. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/phone-reference/plan-availability/availability-in-saudi-arabia

Parting from the above you would need to use a PSTN option. There are 4 main ones, and they are described in this article https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/MicrosoftTeams/pstn-connectivity. Based on your description I believe your option is "Operator Connect", but again there might be some details I am unaware of.

Here is a step-by-step approach:

1. Set Up Microsoft 365 Subscription:

• Purchase a Microsoft 365 subscription that suits your needs. You can do this by visiting the Microsoft 365 website.

2. Enable Phone System:

• Add the "Phone System" license to your Microsoft 365 subscription if it’s not included in your chosen plan. You can do this via the Microsoft 365 admin center.

3. Select a Telecom Provider for Direct Routing:

• Choose a telecom provider that offers Direct Routing services. There are many global and regional providers, so you’ll need to check which ones operate in Saudi Arabia and can provide this service.

4. Configure Direct Routing:

• Work with your chosen telecom provider to set up Direct Routing. This involves configuring the SBC and linking it to Microsoft Teams. The provider should be able to guide you through the process.

5. Assign Phone Numbers:

• Once Direct Routing is set up, you can assign phone numbers to your users in the Microsoft Teams admin center.

6. Test and Go Live:

• Test the setup to ensure that calls can be made to and from Teams to landlines and mobile numbers. Once confirmed, you can roll it out to your organization.
