Hello,

I have created a scan in Microsoft Azure Purview to run only Once, but i could see that it is running incremental scan on daily basis. Can anyone please suggest the way to stop those incremental scans as it is charging me on daily basis.

Thanks

@Swathi Battikadi - Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

To stop regular incremental scans in Azure Purview, you can follow the below steps:

    1. Go to the Microsoft Purview governance portal.
    2. Select the Data Map tab on the left pane.
    3. Select the data source that you registered.
    4. Select the scan that you want to stop.
    5. Click on the run ID to check more about the [scan run details].
    6. On the scan run details page, select Cancel scan run to stop the incremental scan.

If you are unable to find the option to stop the incremental scan, it is possible that the scan was set up to run on a schedule. In this case, you can follow the below steps to disable the schedule:

    1. Go to the Microsoft Purview governance portal.
    2. Select the Data Map tab on the left pane.
    3. Select the data source that you registered.
    4. Select the scan that you want to stop.
    5. On the scan details page, select Edit scan.
    6. In the Scan trigger section, select Once instead of Weekly/Monthly.
    7. Select Save to save the changes.

This will stop the incremental scans and the scan will only run once as per your requirement. If you are still facing issues, please let me know.

For more details, refer to Scan data sources in Microsoft Purview- Schedule a scan.

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.
