Currently, Microsoft Purview does not support exporting the entire data catalog contents to an Excel sheet in one go. The export feature is limited to business assets and allows exporting only one asset type at a time.
To export business assets from Purview, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Purview Portal: Go to the collection containing the assets you want to export.
- Select Business Assets: Choose the asset type you want to export.
- Export: Use the export option to download a CSV file of your selected assets, including their GUIDs and the fields you chose to export
For more comprehensive exports, you might consider using the Purview REST API. This approach allows you to programmatically retrieve entity details and export them as needed.
