OneDrive - privacy of local folders, extra auth?

Hi,
Teachers use OneDrive extensively at our school and many of the bring their job notebooks at home where they might occasionally be lent to family members or visitors to help them out when they need access to a computer. We cannot be sure that they in these cases just hand the computer over with their own account open.

I just wonder if there is a way to restrict access to the local OneDrive folder accessed from Windows explorer and all File Open / File Save objects. Some authentication dialog popping up is this situation when someone tries to open the local OneDrive folder.

Please comment this issue, what are our possible options? Online Onedrive is adequately secured but what can be done to protect the local files?

Thanks a lot for your views :-)

regards Tor

    @BTor

    I’m afraid that it cannot be achieved.

    According to my research, I found Personal Vault, a protected area in OneDrive, which has authentication setting.
    However, it is available for OneDrive home and personal plans, not available in OneDrive for business, or work and school accounts.

    Thanks for your understanding.
