Hi,

I have been trying to create azure data bricks workspace, on my azure free trail account, however reeceiving an error stating "The resource write operation failed to complete successfully, because it reached terminal provisioning state 'Failed'."

When I clicked in for more details, it gave the below information.

Never received this error before and I'm not sure what this error really is.

Any insights would be helpful.

Let me know if you need more information.

Regards,

@Susmitha - Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

The error message indicates that the resource write operation failed to complete successfully because it reached the terminal provisioning state 'Failed'.

To resolve this issue, we need to understand the root cause of the error.

    • This could be an intermittent issue, you can re-try again or try in the different region.
    • In any case, if you experiencing the issue more than 2-3 time with same region retrtying after 10mins, it recommended to check the Azure Databricks status page.
    • The Azure Databricks Status Page provides an overview of all core Azure Databricks services. You can easily view the status of a specific service by viewing the status page. You can also subscribe to status updates on individual service components. This sends an alert whenever the status of the service you are subscribed to changes.

In case, if you still experiencing the same issue:

    • We can start by checking the Azure portal for more details about the failed provisioning operation. The portal provides detailed information about the status of the Databricks workspace deployment, including any errors or warnings that occurred during the process.
    • If the portal does not provide enough information, we can check the Azure Activity Log to get more details about the provisioning operation. The Activity Log provides a detailed record of all operations performed on Azure resources, including Databricks workspaces.

In case if you are unable to find the reason for the failure, kindly share the region where you tried to create Azure Databricks workspace?

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.
