Hello,
I'm so sorry to hear that you're dealing with this. I'll try to do my best to help you out.
What you can do:
Create a new personal account
- Create a new Microsoft account using your personal e-mail address.
- Create a new user profile on your computer that is logged in through this personal account.
Backup your aata
- Still logged on with the organizational account, copy all important files and documents over to an external drive or to your new personal account.
- If you can, export your passwords from Google Password Manager, or make sure you have another way of accessing them.
Ensure password access
- Since you wanted your current login which is already issued to the Google password manager, have it bumped to use your new personal account or set recovery options.
Log out from organization
- Once you've backed up everything, feel free to disconnect from the organization. Settings, select Accounts > Access work or school, choose the organizational account and tap Disconnect.
Log in with your personal account
Now restart your computer and log in with your new personal account.
Check that you can access your files and passwords.
To note:
Data Safety: Make sure, before you disconnect, to have on hand copies of all your important data.
BitLocker Key: If BitLocker is on, save the recovery key to a safe place, such as a USB drive, or print it.
About your ex having you removed
Unfortunately, this will mean that your only recourse, if they will not take you off or change the email address associated with the account, will be that you cannot continue using that organizational account.
You can continue to use Microsoft independently by creating a new personal account and moving data across.
Take your time, and make sure everything is backed up; you have access to all of your accounts and passwords through your e-mail.
Anything else you need to ask, or would you like further assistance?
Take care,
Thierry
