Hello,
It sounds like you've done a lot of troubleshooting already, so here's a few more steps that might help resolve this issue:
- Check for Hardware Issues:
- Try using a different mouse to see if the issue persists. If it works, the problem is likely with your mouse.
- If you’re using a USB mouse, try plugging it into a different USB port.
- If possible, try your mouse on another computer to confirm it is working properly.
- Check Mouse Settings:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Mouse. Make sure everything looks normal here.
- Click Additional mouse options at the bottom and check the settings there. Sometimes, the pointer might be hidden, or the speed settings might be off.
- Restart Windows Explorer:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Find Windows Explorer, right-click on it, and select Restart.
- Check for System File Corruptions:
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator (right-click > Run as administrator).
- Type
sfc /scannow
and press Enter. This will scan and repair any corrupted system files.
- Create a New User Account: There might be a problem with your user profile. Try creating a new user account:
- Press
Windows + I
to open Settings. - Go to
Accounts > Family & other users
. - Click
Add someone else to this PC
and follow the prompts. - Log into the new account and see if the mouse works.
