RDP / "Please Wait"

I have a Dell Desktop running Windows 10 and both a HP Windows 10 laptop and a Macbook Air.  I run RDP from each of the laptops, more frequently from the MAC.  I use the Microsoft RDP client for MAC and the standard Windows RDP client on the HP.

If I just access the Dell from the MAC, no problems; same if I do the same from the HP.  But after using RDP from the HP, and then trying to use RDP from the MAC, after the client is configured, I get a big blue screen with "Please Wait" on the screen.  The only thing that will solve this issue is a reboot of the Dell.

Obviously very annoying, and very inconvenient if I am not near the Dell.

    If nothing else works you can try free TeamViewer or AnyDesk which work better and have less problems. See a comparison here:

    Hello, I am Claudeir, I am a user and an independent consultant, it is very important to me that all your questions are answered and that you have a positive experience.

    -What version of your system? (Windows + R, Winver, press enter)

    -Keep everything up to date with the system (right click on start, settings, update and security, check for updates. Also visit the video card / motherboard / BIOS manufacturer's website to see if there are any drivers to update)

    A pending update can resolve

    If the answer helped in any way, consider leaving your opinion, marking it as answered or leaving more details, so that we can continue the service, this is very important for us.

    Sincerely,

    Claudeir

    The Dell (and the HP) are both running Windows 10 Pro 20H2 OS Build 19042.964). They are both up to date on Windows Updates. the HP (laptop client) is running the built in Windows Remote Desktop Client. The Macbook (Big Sur 14.3) is running the Microsoft Desktop Client 10.6.5.

    Thanks for the information.

    Let's check the following:

    Windows + i, network and internet, network and sharing center, change the advanced sharing settings, in the 'Private' tab check the following options:

    Enable network discovery;

    Enable automatic configuration of devices connected to the network.

    In the 'Guest or public' tab, check the following options:

    Enable network discovery;

    Enable file and printer sharing.

    In the 'All networks' tab, check the following options:

    Enable sharing so that anyone with access to the network can read and write files in public folders;

    Further down, click on 'Choose media streaming options',

    Show device on: All networks, then select Allow all, Ok.

    Returning to the previous part, lower, check Use encryption (recommended) and check Disable password protected sharing.

    Graciously,

    Claudeir

    What seems to be missing here is that RDP from the MAC client works fine as does RDP from the Windows client.

    Where the problem begins is if I use the Windows RDP client (which works) find and THEN use the MAC RDP client, which after the "configuring the Remote PC ..." message, brings up a blue screen and "Please wait" on the host PC.
