Minor patches in Azure PostgreSQL flexible managed

If some minor patches are applied by azure, we select in our test environment that the patch in applied in a certain window and we defer it from production to have some time to test it.
If we detect that the patch causes issues on our applications, how can we stop the minor patch to be installed in production?
As per what I understand, it is not possible to reject a minor patch, only with major patched we have to control to decide when to install it.
Please, could you help us? The topic is important for compliancy.

Minor PostgreSQL patches are rolled out automatically during scheduled maintenance and cannot be rejected. To manage this risk, we configure our staging/test servers with system-managed maintenance windows, which receive patches earlier. Production servers use a custom maintenance window scheduled at least seven days later. This staggered approach gives us time to validate updates in a controlled environment and address any issues before they impact production.

How can we test that minor patches are not breaking anything before being rolled out to production? And if we detect that a minor patch breaks something on our application, how can we stop it before being rolled out into production?

2025-06-27T12:43:23.14+00:00 Minor patches are applied automatically by Azure during scheduled maintenance, and Microsoft doesn’t provide a built-in test environment. To validate updates before they reach production, we maintain our own non-production (test/staging) PostgreSQL server in Azure, configured with a system-managed maintenance window. This allows us to receive patches earlier, run validations, and ensure stability before the same patch is rolled out to production in a delayed, custom window.
