Managing tabs, address bar, and search settings in Edge on Windows 11

Lately when I open my edge. I have it set up to open a specific page which is my home page. But when I go to a page for example. The espn or other page like google etc etc. It opens a tab with a different page and most times, it is an ad or a previous page I was on. This also happens for example if I am in a bank account and looking to go to another page within that account it opens another tab that has nothing to do with that account. I close that ad or tab if you will. And the original tab did change to what I initiated in the first place. Lastly when these tabs open. Its size is smaller. Hope I gave enough info for you to let me know whats wrong. And how I can fix it. I am on an HP Laptop with Edge as My Default Browser. Ty George

Hi George,
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
Based on the original description, the device seems to be experiencing issues related to the unexpected browser tab.
Generally, a new browser profile does not have the ability to automatically and proactively open similar pages without any adjustments or external programs.
This phenomenon may be related to a corrupted browser profile or some potential extensions or security tools.
We tried to observe it in Microsoft Edge Version 126.0.2592.87, but failed to reproduce the problem.
If possible, would you mind sharing more information about this issue with us?
