Azure cost increase while using Purview

Question

Hi - I am currently following up with Azure customer support about the cost. I configured my Purview account with 4 capacity units ,Catalog C0 + C1 and Data insights D0.

I only scanned on-premises SQL server and Azure SQL db once as part of PoC for our customer.
Here is the customer support response :
From now until February 28, 2021, the included usage is 4 free Data Map capacity units and 16 free vCore-hours of scanning per month (billing cycle). You already used this amount; this means that if you continue to use the service, the amount charged will continue to increase.

Does this mean accessing Purview portal incur cost even if we are not scanning any new data source ?

Hello @Rambabu ,

Yes, from now until February 28, 2021, you will receive 4 free Data Map capacity units and 16 free vCore-hours of scanning per month. Data Map metadata storage and the Data Catalog will be free in preview.

Up until February 28, 2021, you will not be charged for Azure Purview as long as you use 4 or fewer Data Map capacity units and less than 16 vCore-hours of scanning. However, you will be charged if you need more than 4 Data Map capacity units and/or more than 16 vCore-hours of scanning in a month.
