I have an AOC monitor.  As for the model number I have no idea. It's a 1600 x 900 screen size. My games like to load in what I thinks is a 600 x 800 screen size.

So far it has only been CD games. So anything that would run on the desktop. Most of my games I can change the screen size so it doesn't really mater. However all of my games start up this way.

Only a few EA games won't can't be fixed and in the case of the Sims I can't even install the expiation packs. My Apps run fine.

As for the graphics card. It's up to date.  However I think that it might be the problem. I think that hardware built for windows 7 is having a hard time making it over to windows 8. Because everything ran fine on my windows 7 OS. You might want to look into AMD Radeon 7750 graphics cards.

    Hi thomasDaw,

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to help you!!

As I understand, games open in wrong screen sizes.

Before we proceed to the resolution, it would help us, if you could answer a few questions.

    1.     What is the make and model of the monitor?

    2.     Did you try changing the screen resolution?

    3.     Does this issue occur in Games App?

    4.     Which games are you referring to?

    5.     Are you trying to play the games through Games App or online or any other method?

    6.     Is the issue specific only to games?

    Here’s what you can try:

    Method 1: Change Screen Resolution

Follow the steps to adjust the screen resolution:

    a.              Right click on the desktop and click Screen Resolution.

    b.              Adjust the resolution to: 1366 X 768.

    Method 2: Update Graphics Card

Follow the steps to update the graphics card driver:

    a.              Press Windows key + X key and click on Device manager.

    b.              Search for Display Adapters.

    c.               Right-click on the graphics card and click on Update driver software.

Please get back to us with the results.

If you have any other questions, get back to us anytime.

    We are happy to help!!

    Regards,
