    Hi Agam,

Apologies if the 1st method didn't work. May I know if you were also able to proceed with the other methods?

You may also look into the Windows recovery options(see "Reset your PC"): https://support.microsoft.com/help/12415/window...

Note: ensure to select the option to keep your files

However, if the issue still persist, it is a possible hardware issue with the machine. You may try to check the warranty options for your machine.

Please let me know how it goes. Thank you.

Good day! I'm Raniel. I understand your frustration regarding this issue and I'll do my best to help.

Just to clarify, did you make any changes to your machine before encountering this issue (like installing third party apps, recent updates, etc..)?

Kindly reinstall your touchpad drivers to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Open command prompt using your admin rights then type devmgmt. msc on the command prompt window to open Device Manager
    2. Expand Mice and other pointing devices > right click on your touchpad driver and select Uninstall device
    3. Select the option to Delete the driver software for this device check box > Uninstall.
    4. Perform a clean boot: https://support.microsoft.com/help/929135/how-t...
    5. Double-check if your machine is up-to-date with the latest security patches: Go to Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for Updates.
    6. Go back to the Device Manager > Click on the Action tab > select "Scan for hardware changes", and check if it will scan and reinstall your touchpad driver.

Another option is to install the generic driver for the touchpad:

    1. Open the Device Manager
    2. Right-click on your touchpad driver and select the Update driver software
    3. Select the option Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
    4. Select "HID Compliant Mouse" and follow the instructions to install it.
    5. Perform a reboot and check again.

If that didn't work, you may also perform a repair install of your Windows which fixes the broken system files on your machine. Here is a guide: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

There should be no worries in performing it since you will select the option to keep your files during the process.

I hope this helps. Good luck!
