BitLocker code required at EVERY restart

I attempted to replace the malfunctioning keyboard in my Dell Inspiron 5379 this past weekend, and to access the keyboard, one must remove all the guts of the computer. Circuit board, hard drive, battery... everything. I got it all put together and functioning, but now every time I restart or turn on my computer from off, I have to put in the 48 digit BitLocker code. I am running Windows 11.

I have gone through the forum, tried disabling it via both the Settings menu, and via Command Prompt. There is only one account on this computer, and it is mine. It is an administrator account.

Settings menu path:

"Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Device Encryption." Under this menu, despite me having an Admin account, the only options under "Operating System Drive" OS C: is to back up my recovery key. I can't turn it off from here.

Command Prompt path (via "manage-bde -off C:")
"ERROR: An attempt to access a required resource was denied. Check that you have administrative rights on the computer."

Any input would be helpful, this is very frustrating.

Hi, I'm Elise, and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

Although you have administrator rights, when you run this command you would need to run the command prompt ‘as an administrator’ by right clicking on it and selecting this option.

Could you try with this method and check the result?

    Kind Regards,

    Elise
