Live event attendee numbers differ

When we host a live event and download the attendee list afterwards the list contains (for example) 2500 people.
When I produce the live event I see a max of 970 people
When I look up the live event in the Teams admin console I see 1400 attendees.,..

So.. which number is the correct one? and where is this big difference coming from?
I do understand that the live producer view is constantly giving you an overview of current viewers but the other two?

Thanks in advance!

I believe the in-meeting attendee count is accurate for that moment in time.

The logs will show each user entering and leaving, which is tallied cumulatively. So if a user joins, then leaves, then joins again, they are counted as 2 users. The log is merely a reflection of join/exit events, not an actual count of total users -- but total cumulative 'views'.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi TessavanRoekel-7151!

Based on my research, there is no accurate ways that can count detailed attendees’ number. If someone join the live event anonymously, you cannot see it in your participant list, although he actually attend your live event. And Only internal attendees can show in the engagement report.

In this case, we recommend you vote for it in Teams UserVoice(Link: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/36856009-need-accurate-count-of-attendees-of-a-live-event). Microsoft will always focus on customer’s feedback and experience. Some new features would be added to the services based on customers' feedback in the future, and your good ideas will be very helpful for them to improve the service.

Your time, understanding and cooperation will be highly appreciated.
