Excel shortcut Ctrl+left arrow not working

Hello,

I am using Excel 2010 in Windows 10. The keyboard shortcut CTRL and left Arrow does not work for moving to end of a column. Nothing happens when I select this keyboard combination. It was working before I upgraded the Windows to 10, and CTRL + other Arrows are still working fine (i.e. Right, Up and Down are all working fine).

Does anyone know why CTRL and left Arrow does not work for moving to end of column?

Below post pointed to keyboard shortcut conflict but the solution is for Mac OS:

I will appreciate any help.

Tracy

Thank you for your reply, really appreciated!

As I also have the issue that when I click Start Button nothing happen, I searched for help and got the fix before I shut down the computer yesterday. Now seeing your reply and I tried the Excel again, it's all working fine now.

Since it's working fine now, I have to assume, in my case, the issue is related to the DWORD (32-bit) value is missing in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced.

If anyone has the same issue as me, including the start button not working, you can try below as it works for me:

    Kind regards,

    Tracy

    Hi,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I would like to know if the issue is with only one excel document or all the excel documents.

Does the left arrow work in other applications.

In the search bar next to start, type in onscreen keyboard and try using Ctrl+left arrow and check if it works.

Meanwhile let's check whether Office applications are running in Compatible Mode. If yes, disable the same and verify the result.

    1. Browse to the location C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 16\root\Office16 (64bit) or C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office 16\root\Office16

    2)  Right click on Office application like Excel and then click in Properties.

    1. In the Properties window click on Compatibility tab.
    2. uncheck ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and then click on Apply and OK.

Hope the above information helps. Try the suggestion and let me know the results at your earliest convenience.

    Thank you.
