When I copy a slide from one presentation and try and paste it into another, the Keep Source Formatting option is not available. How can I find it?

On my system, it's not totally reliable, but most of the time if I click in the Slides pane to the left of the main window and paste in the slide, the Paste Format icon will appear in the lower left corner of the pasted slide and I can choose Keep Source Formatting. Sometimes I have to click on the pasted slide for the icon to appear. I would post a screen shot, but every time I try to capture it, the icon disappears.
