Nested IF statement in Excel 2011 Mac

Hello,

I have a nested if statement that is giving me trouble.

I have columns of inspection dates which include last conducted inspection date, next inspection date and current rating.

The current formula is =IF(ISBLANK(E7);"";E7+730)

So when I add a date in E7 then in G7 the new calculation date is shown. But if it is E7 is blank then G7 will be blank.

Variables that should be known.

If a inspection have a not adequate rating then the inspection date must be within 6months 180days. But if its a adequate rating then the date should 2yr or 730 days.

I need another if statementment to show what I just identified.

Basically, I need the date to change to six months from the last inspection if it was a NOT ADEQUATE and if the rating is ADEQUATE then 2 years after the last inspection date.

Thanks

Carlos

    Hi Loschinony,

Based on your description, the issue may be related to the semicolon.

I suggest you try changing the semicolon to camma.

If this is not your situation, please provide the more detailed information about the feature of the formula.

    Thanks,

    Qing

Where is the flag for Adequate/Not Adequate?

If we assume it is in column F, then

    =IF(ISBLANK(E7),"",IF(F7="Adequate",E7+730,IF(F7="Not Adequate",E7+180,"Undefined")))

    Regards

    Murray

    Yes it worked.

I just need a bit more help with the following.

I want to do almost the same thing I did in the thread but with the following:

Date of last survey was conducted and Next date for new survey.

I was looking at something like this but it didnt work.

    =IF(ISBLANK(I5);"";IF(I5="dd-mmm-yyyy";I5+1095))

    Thanks

    Carlos
