I noticed a lot of documents that I am not sure I should have visbility to show up when I click on the "Discover" sub-tab of my OneDrive. What determines if a document shows in that space? Is it people in my organization posting to a public folder somewhere? I want to let them know but I am not sure where the documents are housed. Thank you.

    Hi DL_2016,

    Thanks for your reply.

I have summarized your questions, here are my replies to them, which may benefit other community members.

    1.    What is Delve?

Delve helps you discover the information that's likely to be most interesting to you right now across Office 365. Find information about people, which can help others find you. For more detailed information about Delve, this article is for your reference: What is Office Delve?

    2.    Do Discover view items come from anywhere else other than OneDrive or SP online?

Delve shows you a mix of content from across Office 365. You’ll see both your own documents, and documents your colleagues are working on. These are documents that are stored in OneDrive for Business or SharePoint in Office 365, or that have been shared with you as attachments in emails. Webpages that have been posted to Yammer, can also show up in Delve. The article you provided is quite useful to refer to: How does Office Delve know what's relevant to me?

    Regards,

    Yoga

The "Discover" view is part of Delve. It all uses the Office Graph. Its a self learning system.

The very first thing you need to know is that the Office Graph, or Delve will NEVER show you files that you do not have access to .So If you see something, that means you have access to that file. The Discover View is new I think. I know I see it for about 3 seconds and it says "Discover items that are trending around you" but then it disappears. Makes me thing they are still working on it and it should be soon.

I will see if I can find anymore info on it for you. Its actually better to use Delve instead of going to your ODFB folder.

If you go to Delve, you can see ALL files you have access to, no matter where the file is located. So, in Delve, you will see your ODFB files, and also all your SharePoint files. So, Great place to start out is Delve.

Hi thanks so much for your help.

    Two points of inquiry:

    1. What is Delve ? : )
    2. I am seeing documents from other departments that in theory I should not have access to so I am wondering where people are uploading these items. Can you confirm that the default setting for OneDrive is visibility of docs only to the owner? Or (more concerning) is the default some sort of sharing? I thought maybe they were dumping docs into SharePoint but I am seeing items from departments that don't even have access to our SP site...

Thank you for your help ! Now I'll go read the Discover link you sent below

I guess a more specific version of my question is, do Discover view items comes from anywhere else other than OneDrive or SP online?

"The content in the Discover view comes from different content sources across Office 365 such as SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business. "
