My computer went through an extensive update which took forever. Now after the update, when I open Excel, it asks for the product key or for me to sign in and none of my login information works. I had Excel installed onto my computer a long time ago when I initially bought my Sony Vaio, so I need to know how to fix this issue WITHOUT losing any of my previously saved information.

    Hello,

Office 2013 licensing can be linked with a Microsoft account. Log in to Office Account to check if the pre-installed Microsoft Office is associated with your Microsoft Account.

If the pre-installed Microsoft Office is associated with your Microsoft Account, use that account to log in. This should allow you to use your Office products without having to input the Product Key.

    Regards.

This helped nothing, no matter how many times I log in to my account on any of the office products it is consistently giving me the same message with the same error code.  My subscription does not expire until 2018 and this only started happening after the update.
