Importing MDB files in Access 2016

I am working with an Access Application created using Access 2000 that has worked fine with Access 2007 and Access 2010.  Access 2016 will open the application but will not allow the importing of mdb files giving the error message that it will not import files created in a previous version of Access.  I am also unable to convert the files from an mdb format because Access won't open them.  Would appreciate any suggestions.

Hi. How about rather than opening the MDB file and then try to import other MDB files into it, can you create a brand new "blank" database in Access 2016 and then import all the objects from the MDB file? Then, you can try to import the other MDB files into it. Just a thought...

Do you still have a version of 2007 or 2010? Full support for mdb files was removed with 2016. So you have to convert your mdbs to accdb to continue to use them under 2016.

Correction: The issue is with files originally created with Access 97. MDBs created in later versions will work.

However, I would still be working at moving all my MDBs to ACCDB.

Hi. I don't have a copy of 2016 but if you're saying you can't get the data, does it mean you can't even "link" to the MDB table? Bummer. If you want, I am still using 2010, you can send me a copy of your MDB, and I'll convert it to ACCDB for you. Just a thought...
