Someone else (or was that you?) reported the same problem earlier, though with a different icon.

It may be that the server handling this request has a problem or that there was some sort of temporary internet "hiccup".

If you work at a company/institution that has restrictive IT policies, it's possible that they don't allow access to some domains/sites so this request is being blocked.

And of course, you'll need to make sure that you do have a solid internet connection, since the icons are stored in the cloud, not on your local PC.

I have this problem too, but my internet connection is good and unfiltered.  Have checked my endpoint security tooling (Kapersky Lab) and it's reporting no blocks.....    This is happening for me on every icon I've tried so far.

FYI I have just tried an Office Update, and ensuring the File-Account had good connection to my O365 account.   That connection did need re-establishing, and there were office updates, but neither have fixed the problem.   All other internet access (including Skype, Web, Outlook etc working fine).

(Also tried temporary disabling of the Kapersky endpoint security, still no luck).

When this happens, the error message includes the URL to the SVG file you've chosen.  It's a long, tedious thing to type and get right, but try entering the URL in the address bar of your browser.  If all the connections are good and things are working at the MS end, you'll see the SVG in the browser.  If not, it suggests a problem with PPT itself (or possibly an underlying browser issue).

Thanks.  I did that and the icon image appears in the browser straight away (IE and Edge both work).   Interesting.  As you say potentially an issue in PPT then.  Perhaps a re-install needed?
