    1. Go to Microsoft Menu  → Preferences  → File Locations.
    2. And Look where the auto recover files are saved.
    3. If no place is selected.
    4. Click on Edit.
    5. Create Path set it as:

Hard Drive  → Users  → ~(home) or whatever the profile name use setup  → Application Support  → Microsoft  → Office  → Office 2011 Auto Recovery 6. If the folder in not there create it. 7. save and quit.

If it were left alone all the auto recover files all get dumped in the trash.

    Linda,

I already had everything Phillip suggested, I have the Office 2011 Auto Recovery folder. Word seems to save sometimes & gives me the error msg sometimes.

    Kevin

I have another very irritating problem. About half the times I print from Word, the program quits (printing sometimes even as it quits). Since auto recovery works intermittently, I have to go back and reconstruct the 5-8 docs I have open. Very inconvenient and has occasioned some very expressive language on my part.

Would Love some help on this!

    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,

Glad to know that you have the Office 2011 Auto Recovery folder now. For the Word creash issue when printing, I suggest you open a new thread to trouble it better.

    Thanks,

    Linda

    Linda,

Perhaps I was not clear. I have always had the Office 2011 Auto Recovery folder. The problem is that Word saves to it sometimes and not other times.

    Kevin
