Mac Excel not respecting decimal setting on numeric keypad (always types period)

Excel 2016 for Mac doesn't follow the system setting for number formats fully. When set to use comma as decimal separator, the decimal key on the numerical keypad (on extended keyboards) still types a period.

In e.g. MacOS's built-in calculator pressing the same key will result in a comma or period depending on the region format setting, and I believe it used to work correctly in Excel 2011 as well. When trying to fill in lots of numbers with decimal separators by hand, this behavior results in much slower and inconvenient typing as you have to use your left hand to type the comma, or jump between the numerical keypad and the main keyboard's comma key.

Anyone experiencing the same issue, or have suggestions for a workaround?

    Hi AndersL_,

I could understand your feelings about the inefficiency .

As it is extended numerical keypad, if there is any driver on this keypad, please make sure you have updated it to the latest version.

If the issue persists, could you please provide the following information to help better understand your situation?

    1. Does the issue occur to other keypad if there is one?
    2. Does the issue occur to other Office applications and Mac OS' Notes application?
    3. Your Mac OS version (e.g. 10.12.4) and Excel version. For Mac OS version, from the Apple menu, choose About This Mac. The version number appears beneath “macOS” or “OS X.” For your Excel version, choose Excel in the top menu bar > About Excel and please capture a screenshot of the window.

Note: Please mask the Personal Identifiable Information to protect your privacy.

    Thanks,

    Tina
