Comments Task Pane opens when writing in comments

Hello,

I am running Windows 10 with Word 2016. Both are up to date as of this posting.  I use Dragon Professional to dictate to Word.

When I am filling in a comment after a sentence or two an additional window pops up.  It is a Comments Task Pane(picture below).  This is a problem as it makes the cursor disappear and I am unable to continue dictating.  If I click back on the comment, to the right of the document, I can get a sentence in and then the same Comments Task Pane appears.  I then can repeat the process always getting the same result.

I have tried opening a new blank document.  The same problem occurs after filling up a page with comments.

I have tried opening a previous saved document and the same problem occurs.

Below is a picture with the Comments Task Pane that appeared in the lower right.  I would like to stop the Comments Task Pane from opening.

I appreciate any assistance.

Sincerely,

Lewis

If select Simple Markup and from the Show Markup dropdown you select Balloons and the check teh Show Revisions in Balloons item, the comments will be collapsed to the icon enclosed in a red rectangle.

When you click on such an icon, the comment will appear.

If that is not a workable method, the only other thing that you can do is to insert hard page breaks into the body of the document to limit the amount of comment text that is relevant to the active page.

The Comments pane with which you have the issue, is a "continuation" of the comments pane to its left and it can be closed by clicking on the dropdown arrow and then clicking on Close.  When you do that, the cursor will be returned to the body of the document.

Thank you AaAa_08 for your quick response.

I tried both suggestions and it did not work.  I want to be able to see the comments but I would like to stop the grey comments task pane from popping up.  The picture is below, the grey comments window is circled in blue.

When this grey window appears it makes the cursor disappear.  As stated in the original post the problem loops.

You may try also clicking on the drop-down menu under tracking and clicking on 'Simple Markup' and click on 'Show Comments'.

You may refer on the attached screenshot.

Hi I am an Independent advisor and hoping to help you today.

Can you try doing the following:

Go to Review Tab under tracking click on Show Markup and click on Comments.

note: "Comments" have check mark. After clicking it, it should remove the comments now.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.
