AutoSave toggle button does not appear

Split from this thread about something similar, yet different.

I am having a similar issue. Just installed Office 365 for business on Mac Big Sur from my institution. Logged into OneDrive as well as the desktop apps. Synced my OneDrive to the Mac to show in finder. When I open a file - whether its from the Excel/Word/Powerpoint desktop app, the OneDrive folder in finder, OR from a browser in Office365 online by selecting the file in my OneDrive and then clicking open in desktop app - the AutoSave toggle button does not even appear at the top of the screen. I just have the floppy disc "Save" icon with circulating arrows on it.

I have Reset Onedrive. Deleted all the  microsoft programs, then re installed them. Signed out then back in. Restarted my Mac. Please help. I don't even know what else I can try.

Thanks

Jamie

One possibility to explore: Click the inverted ⏏︎ on the QAT to see whether Automatically Save is checked... If not, select it to turn the device on.

This can be done in the Ribbon & Toolbar Preferences as well:

    Hi Jamie_06,

I go through the post and it seems that you don’t have Autosave button. As you can see in the link: What is AutoSave? “AutoSave appears in the upper-left corner if you are an Microsoft 365 subscriber, and you have the latest version of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for Microsoft 365 installed.”

If you don’t see the button, please make sure you are in latest version of Office for mac, additionally, are you using Office 365 or other office version like office 2016 for mac? you may view more product information from Word>About Word.

    Regards,

    Clark
