Error Code 0xc0000142

Hello All,

I've run into an extremely frustrating issue with all Office Products. Absolutely nothing will open (Word, Excel, etc.) which is absurd because it is a paid for subscription. Whenever I click on a product, like Word, for example, it says "Updating office, please wait a moment" followed by the error code  0xc0000142.

I've seen every fix under the sun, and nothing has worked. I've been dealing with this for over 7 hours and literally no one has helped me. After 2 phone calls, 3 chats and multiple back-and-forth and blame game banter, I am still not able to access any Office 365 product that is being paid for. I've already done the following:

  1. Uninstalled office 365 (5 times)
  2. Reinstalled Office 365 (5 times)
  3. Updated my device
  4. Quick Fix via Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant (3 times)
  5. Full Scan Fix via Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant (3 times)
  6. Disabled all Office products (3 times)
  7. Enabled all Office products (3 times)
  8. Reconfigured the system (2 times)
  9. Used Code 1: for %i in (%windir%\system32\.dll) do regsvr32.exe /s %i AND Code 2: for %i in (%windir%\system32\.ocx) do regsvr32.exe /s % thru the command prompt.

Any Ideas?

I've given up on attempting these various fixes. I do not have the time or patience. I've opted to use another service instead to prevent further frustration and wasted time. Thanks for your time.

    1. Please see the attached first and second images.
    2. I'm using Windows 10.
    3. I could open Office apps before and there have been no changes at all on my part before this error.

    4.  Please see the attached third image.

I'm having the same problem when I try to open any Office 2016 product. Support says, "This issue is fixed in Monthly Channel Version 1803 (Build 9126.2116) or greater. To get the latest update immediately, open any Office app and choose File > Account > Update Options > Update Now." How do you expect me to get into Update Options if I can't get into any Office app?

    Please help
