I am trying to install OneDrive per machine on an RDS server WinServer2016

from Install the sync app per machine - OneDrive | Microsoft Docs

I Run "OneDriveSetup.exe /allusers" from a command prompt window as domain admin but it installs in %localappdata% folder and not in "Program Files (x86)" Have tried on 2012 and 2016 servers.

    Hi,

Thank you for querying in this forum.

I go through the post carefully. It seems like you tried to install OneDrive per machine but you found OneDrive is not installed in Program Files (x86). I understand you want to install OneDrive per machine on Windows server.

According to the article you mentioned, all Windows versions are supported for this feature. Honestly, currently I don't have Windows Server on my side, so I did a quick test in Windows 10 computer. It seems like it works, as I can find the installed Microsoft OneDrive under the "Program Files" directory.

May I know how did you install OneDrive app per machine? May I know whether you use steps below?

1.Firstly get OneDrive app package from this official article OneDrive release notes

under Windows tab, click "Download OneDrive for Windows". When it prompts, DO NOT click Run, please click Save>Save as, save the OneDriveSetup.exe file to the Download folder on the computer.

2.Then open Command Prompt. Firstly navigate to the downloaded OneDrive app package file by entering the command cd C:\Users\Administrator\Downloads press Enter,

then enter the command OneDriveSetup.exe /allusers press Enter,

Here is a screenshot for reference:

If above is not your steps, you may try to go to uninstall the existing OneDrive app from your computer, then follow steps mentioned above, test and check the outcome.

If you have tried the same steps above but you still find OneDrive is installed in %localappdata% folder and not in "Program Files (x86)" or "Program Files", please feel free to post back and let us know, we will continue trying best to assist you.

At the same time, please share with us information below for troubleshooting:

1.What is your OneDrive app version?

2.Please also share some screenshots about "it installs in %localappdata% folder and not in "Program Files (x86)" ".

We appreciate your understanding that sometimes the initial reply may not resolve the problem very soon. However, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation. Please kindly provide more information to let us work further.

Thanks for your patience and effort. Hope you are keeping safe and well.

    Best regards,

    Tina
