Thanks, May Shi MSFT for the response.

I asked the client to reinstall office from office.com and update me if it helps.

Reinstalling seems to have solved the issue.

They said that one particular file prompted such error, it must have been corrupted like you said.

I will post them the steps you provided, just incase they encounter issues alike.

Thank You.

    Hi EssBeeU,

Thank you for posting in this community.

Sorry that I don’t find any related information about this issue.

To narrow down, it’s first recommended to create a new Excel workbook to see the result. If the issue doesn’t occur in the new workbook, it means that your current workbook may be corrupted. Given this situation, you may try to copy and paste the content form the ole one to the new one.

If the issue also happens to the new created workbook, it means this issue should be related to your Excel app. And you may try the following methods:

    Method 1:

Please open Excel safe mode to identify whether the issue is related to some third party add-ins.

If you can open these files immediately using Excel safe mode, that means the issue might be due to add-ins. And please to refer to steps in this article to remove all add-ins in Excel to see the result.

    Method 2:

Please  perform an Online Repair for Office.

If the above suggestions don’t help. Feel free to contact me.

And for a better understanding of your situation, may I confirm the following information?

    1. The build and version information of your Excel? (File>Account.) Could you please share a screenshot on the Product information page and help mask your email address to protect your privacy? Like shown below:

    1. The build and version information of your Windows? (Click the Start menu > Type “winver” > and hit Enter.)
    2. Can you recall that when did this issue happen, after updating Office? Or after installing a new app?

    Best Regards,

    May
