Missing OneDrive STATUS column

Hi,

I remember few Windows versions ago, OneDrive had STATUS column in Windows Explorer, like this:

Now, in later versions this column has gone, and status is shown as OVERLAY over existing icons:

I liked the old way with STATUS COLUMN more, because existing icons were intact, and were easy to recognize. Now with overlay method some icons I can barely recognize what type are they.

Is there any way to go back to STATUS COLUMN?

I've tried to add all possible STATUS and SHARING columns, but none of them is displaying OneDrive file status.

    Hi AndrejPirman,

From the screenshots, it appears OneDrive Files On-Demand is not enabled. When you turn on Files On-Demand, you’ll see all your files in File Explorer and get new information about each file.

With Files On-Demand enabled, your files will have these statuses in File Explorer (same as first screenshot in your post):

When this feature is tuned off, your files will have overlay icon same as shown in the second screenshot you provided.

If you wish to see the icons status in a separate column in File Explorer, please enable Files On-Demand. For this, follow the steps below:

    1. Right-click the blue OneDrive cloud icon in the Windows taskbar notification area.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. On the Settings tab, select the Save space and download files as you use them box.

After you enable this feature, you can change the status of the file by right-clicking on them and select View online or Always keep on this device or Free up space.

If the issue persists, please provide us with the following information:

    1. May I know the version of OneDrive app? To get this information, right-click the blue OneDrive icon, Select Settings and go to About tab, check under About Microsoft OneDrive section.
    2. Please confirm whether you are signed in with your personal account or work or school account.
    3. A screenshot of Settings tab in OneDrive sync client.

    Regards,

    Neha
