I tried to download a program onto my new computer (Windows 11) and it prompted me to go to settings, privacy and security, and turn off "core isolation" so I did that. That's when I got a blue screen with the error 0xc0000225. What are my options in trying to fix this situation and getting my computer back up and running?

    Hi Mary,

Nice to meet you! I'm Randy, an Independent Advisor.

The 0xc0000225 error means Windows can’t load properly, often after security setting changes like disabling core isolation. To fix it, first try restarting a few times to trigger Automatic Repair and run Startup Repair. If that doesn’t help, boot from a Windows 11 installation USB, go to Repair your computer>Troubleshoot>Advanced options, and run Startup Repair there. If the error persists, open Command Prompt from Advanced options and use the bootrec commands to rebuild the boot files. Another option is using System Restore to roll back to a point before the change.

    Hope that this helps,

    Kind regards,
