I have tried all that without success. Yet I can access other games eg solitaire. It's the backgammon game I cannot access

Which browser are you using?
Try to update your browser first. Open browser settings and allow cookies for msn.com. Turn off ad blocking or script blocking extensions for MSN Games. Clear cache and cookies, then restart the browser. Sign out of MSN, sign back in, then open Backgammon again.
