Windows 10 Ad-Hoc Network Error

Hello! I am trying to connect to an ad-hoc network generated by a device I am using. I am running the commands given here https://globalcache.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/114094165352-FAQ-Windows-8-1-and-Windows-10-AdHoc-network-support-solution?mobile_site=true but getting the error that IBSS connection is not supported. However, the Qualcomm Adapter that I'm running (QCA9377 802.11ac) is IBSS compatable, and is even advertised as such. The only workarounds I've found are people installing Windows 8 drivers, but as I am running Windows 10 I can't install them. Is there anything I can do to connect to this ad-hoc network? If not, why is Windows removing this feature?

    Hi,

Thanks for Dave's reply! In regards to your issue, it seems that it's a known issue when adapters implementing new driver model would no longer support ad-hoc features in win 10.

It is suggest that customers who wish to use the deprecated hosted network feature to share Internet connection may consider using
Windows 10 Mobile hotspot as a workaround.
