Dear Sir,

I hope you are well.

When I activated recurring billing for my Microsoft 365 Family subscription, the annual renewal amount was stated as ₹6,199, and this amount was duly charged to my credit card in the past.

However, I recently noticed that the annual renewal charge has been increased to ₹8,199 without any prior communication. This unexpected change is concerning, as the original agreement indicated a yearly charge of ₹6,199.

I kindly request clarification on the reason for this price increase and would appreciate your guidance on how this matter can be resolved.

Warm regards,
Jayanta Bhattacharyya

    Dear Dev,

Thank you very much for your response.

Based on my understanding, we are using the Microsoft 365 Family (Classic) subscription for up to six users, not the Premium version. In that case, the renewal price of ₹8,199 does not appear to be correct. Could you please let me know who at Microsoft can verify and correct this?

Additionally, the original agreement did not mention any price increase of around 30%. A change of this scale, without prior communication, is concerning and seems inconsistent with the terms initially provided.

I would appreciate your guidance on how this can be validated and resolved from Microsoft’s side.

    Warm regards,

Last year, Microsoft indicated they were increasing the price of the Microsoft 365 subscription by around 30%, because they were adding new functionality like Copilot Ai to Microsoft 365.

If you do not need that new functionality, log into your Microsoft account online and choose to cancel your Microsoft 365 subscription, then on the next page, scroll down and you should see the hidden option to get Microsoft 365 Classic for the original cheaper price.
