Use Windows’ spatial sound settings to ensure Dolby Access can apply its configuration.

    1. Turn on spatial sound in Windows
      1. Select Start > Settings > System > Sound.
      2. Under Output, select the playback device (for example, your headphones or speakers) that should use spatial sound.
      3. Select Device properties.
      4. In the Spatial sound section, open the Spatial sound format dropdown.
      5. Choose Windows Sonic for Headphones or the Dolby option provided by Dolby Access (for example, Dolby Atmos for Headphones) if it appears.
      6. Select Apply if shown.
    2. Enable spatial sound from the taskbar (alternative)
      1. Right-click the Volume icon in the taskbar.
      2. Open the sound device properties and, in the Spatial sound section, select the desired spatial sound format.
    3. Verify the device supports spatial sound
      • In the Spatial sound section for the selected output device, ensure a spatial format is available in the dropdown. If no spatial formats are listed, that output device does not support Microsoft Spatial Sound and Dolby Access will not be able to apply its configuration to that device.
    4. Confirm Dolby Access configuration
      • After enabling a spatial sound format in Windows for the correct output device, open Dolby Access and complete any setup it requires for that same device. If Dolby Access prompts to enable Dolby Atmos in Windows, follow the on-screen steps; they should align with the Windows spatial sound settings described above.

If the spatial sound format cannot be selected for any device, first ensure the correct output device is chosen in Settings > System > Sound, then repeat the steps above.
