For several Microsoft learning and study experiences, progress is automatically saved so it’s easy to return to where studying stopped:
- Microsoft Learn certifications and training
Study guides and self-paced training on Microsoft Learn are organized into learning paths and modules. After signing in and working through units, progress is tracked per unit/module. When returning to the same learning path or module while signed in, it opens at or near the last completed unit so studying can continue from there. - OneNote notes while studying
If OneNote is used for study notes (for example, alongside Azure training), OneNote 2013 automatically saves every 30 seconds and when the notebook is closed. When the notebook is opened again, it returns to the last place that was being worked on, so there is no need to manually save or track position. - Microsoft Edge for learning
When using Microsoft Edge to access Microsoft Learn or other study resources, Edge can help return to where studying stopped by:- Keeping learning pages in Favorites or Collections so the exact module or article can be reopened quickly.
- Using vertical tabs and other organization features to keep study resources grouped and easy to resume.
- Microsoft Teams and Viva Learning
If Viva Learning in Teams is used for courses, the Home and My Learning views show assigned, in-progress, and recently viewed content. Opening a course from these views lets learning continue where it was left off.
In practice, the most reliable way to always get back to the exact spot is to stay signed in to the same account, use the built-in progress tracking in Microsoft Learn, and optionally keep a OneNote page or Edge Collection with direct links to the current module or unit.
